Perhaps you have heard this question recently, “How is your family?” Often our immediate response is to simply say, “Doing fine.” But can you honestly say that? Is your marriage thriving? Are your kids developing a love for the Lord? Are you actively engaging in your vital role as a parent? We instinctively know there is a lot of dysfunction in many homes but seemingly just hope the issues in ours will just go away on its own. While we can see many families falling apart, God desires to see your family fortified and flourishing!

Family Weekend can be just the tool He uses to help us do that. On September 8-10, we will have practical sessions on being the parents God has called us to be, we will have applicable insights on marriage that will engage us to be renewed in our marriages, and we will conclude with a focus on Jesus, who truly changes everything. Dr. Schettler served for twenty-five years ministering primarily to young people through Christian education before accepting the pastorate of First Baptist Church in Santa Maria, California, where he served for six years. Dr. Schettler’s excitement for the Lord and heart’s cry to bring the lost to a saving faith in Jesus Christ permeates his preaching, teaching, and outreach. In recent years, he travels often to teach on the family and mental health. He also continues to teach Bible, counseling, local church discipleship, youth ministry and the Christian home at West Coast Baptist College.
